St. John's Wort Tincture
Hypericum perforatum (hypericacaeae)
St.John’s Wort flowers at the summer solstice and was used since the 19th century by medieval times as a key herb for nervous exhaustion and depression. It is now considered one of the most useful herbs in the world. St. John’s Wort can be identified as a branching plant with woody stems. It has bright yellow flowers with yellow star shaped spokes that come out from the centre. The entire aerial parts of the plant are active so it can be used for all sorts of preparations. Common preparations are tea, tincture and oil.
The flowers thrives in sunny and well-drained chaulky soil. It can be grown from seed or by root division in the fall. The flowering tops are what is harvested in the summer.
St. John’s wort is slightly cooling and moderately drying. It may protect the skin from excessive sun exposure, lift the spirits of someone who might be missing the sun. It is excellent at supporting the restoration of the skin.
WARNING: It is recommended not to take St. John’s Wort if you are taking prescription medication.

Ingredients:
Wildcrafted Fresh St. John’s Wort flower, leaves and stems in Vodka.
Dosage: Adults - 1-2 dropperfuls in a little water 1 to 2 times daily.
Storage: Cool dark place up to 5 years.
